The kids had tennis camp homework: practice bouncing the ball to build forearm muscles. They are both doing a great job and are having a lot of fun! I wish their instructor was offering another week of camp like this (although I'm not sure when we would fit it in!). I'm trying to talk her into giving the kids another week of private lessons later this summer, like we did last year. She is a busy mom so she is hesitant to commit, but for some reason she really enjoys Tyler & Danielle and just can't say no. :)

Aren't our roses pretty?! |

No, her lawn is not big enough to justify a riding lawnmower! |
While Ron and Danielle were at softball practice this evening, Tyler, Clara and I went to the dog park. We had a nice time. Clara is rather shy, so she wasn't really interested in the other dogs. She did enjoy the pats on the head from the other dog owners, and she liked being out with us. She is such a smart dog. We showed her how to go through the tunnel once and she quickly picked it up and then would go through on command. The other dogs were like a group of little kids. Once Clara did it, the other dogs ran over to see what she was doing. They wouldn't go through the tunnel, but they watched. It was funny. Some of the dogs were really wild and Clara actually got vaulted a couple times, but overall it was a good experience. We used to take her to a different dog park a few years ago, but stopped going when an older guy with a pit bull kept coming. He would not control his dog, and honestly, I did not feel like Clara or my kids were safe. Several others felt that way, too, which is too bad. This park was bigger and seems promising so far. I'm sure Danielle will want to go back soon to see all the other dogs since she missed out on the fun tonight.
