Happy Easter!

We've had a very nice Easter weekend. We started by taking the kids to see Mary Poppins on Thursday evening. It was Tyler's first play (Danielle saw The Nutcracker), and our first together as a family. We had a really nice evening. The play was a lot different than the movie, but it was good. Of course, no one plays Bert like Dick Van Dyke!

The kids had Good Friday off. We didn't do much, but we did watch the Mary Poppins movie again...for reference, you know.

On Saturday evening we went to Easter service at our church. We switched churches several months ago. One thing I really like about this church is that they still sing hymns, but they don't drudge along like a funeral march. They didn't disappoint with the classic Easter favorites, but they were cleverly disguised with drums and a quick tempo. It was a really good service.

This afternoon we went to my dad's for our annual Easter egg hunt. My stepmom puts so much time, effort, and thought into making it special for the kids, and it shows. It is always a wonderful time, and the kids have so much fun. As we watched the kids run around the yard looking for their eggs, we couldn't help but think of Easters past, when the kids were all so much younger. They are all growing up way too fast! It was a great afternoon.

Happy Easter!
