We got a good amount of snow today (for us). Many of the schools around us dismissed early, including ours. That made for a very fun afternoon!
The kids enjoyed playing outside in the snow. Our neighbor friends came over and the kids took turns sledding down the drive. Ron pushed them with his "sled launcher", as you can see in one of the pictures of Tyler. The kids had a lot of fun; there was a lot of laughter. We finished off our afternoon with hot chocolate and, later, a chili dinner at our neighbor's house. (Tyler declared her chili was much better than mine...as he ate his third bowl full.)We really had a good day.
Later this evening I peeked out the window at the snow. Instead of seeing beautiful, sparkly, pristine snow blanketing our yard, I saw lots of piles, footprints, and sled marks - all signs of a great day. That looked beautiful to me.
We're keeping our fingers crossed for a snow day tomorrow. Probably won't know until 5am, though.

Dad stayed home Monday with our first storm and came home yesterday early when it got bad again. He's debating about today with lake effect snow due to hit. I can't get him to go out and play though;-)
Maybe if you offered to give his sled a big push with a snow shovel he would be more tempted. Of course, when you're measuring snow in feet rather than inches and have responsibilities like work, it might take some of the thrill out of it.
