In an effort to distract Danielle from her tears as Ron was saying his goodbyes at bedtime last night, I suggested we work on learning to ride her bike without training wheels this week so she could surprise Ron when he gets home from his trip. She gave me permission to post these videos with the understanding that if anyone watching these happens to talk to Ron while he's in Europe, you won't tell him! (She's quite serious about keeping it a secret!)
We went to my Dad's for awhile this afternoon and took the bikes and scooters. We took Danielle's training wheels off and gave it a try. As you can see, she did quite well! She's got a few bumps and bruises on her legs, but she is so pleased with herself. I'm positive learning to balance her scooter helped speed the process up a bit. Hooray for Danielle!!

Danielle did a great job--and on grass yet!
He used to read my blog but doesn't do it regularly any more. I sent him a message and asked him not to check it this time, though.
I would consider her officially "trained". She can push off by herself now & can even use her brake to stop!
