Our Saturday

This afternoon we enjoyed the carnival at Tyler's school. The kids had fun playing games, getting their faces painted, and eating snow cones & cotton candy. Tyler also had a lot of fun trying to dunk his teacher in the dunk tank. He was really close one time, but he didn't get a direct hit. He was so excited about trying, though. It was pretty cute. He laughed pretty hard when she finally did get dunked. The principal was supposed to kiss a pig, but there was some excuse about piglets being hard to find this time of year, so she kissed a guinea pig instead. As Tyler said, "Well, that was kind of boring." We had a nice time, though. Our town and school are small enough that there were a lot of familiar faces, which makes it even more fun. Also, when we were buying raffle tickets, we noticed our graveyard cake sitting on the table with the prizes rather than at the cake walk. When we asked, they said they pulled a couple of the baked goods they thought were "too nice for the cake walk" and included them with some of the raffle prize packages. That was kind of nice.

Later this afternoon we finished our pumpkin bats (another Family Fun craft idea). We painted the pumpkins last weekend. Today the kids made the eyes and added the wings & ears. I think they turned out really cute. Even Daddy was proud of his finished product.

And Tyler was eating an apple this evening and lost his second tooth. It wasn't as loose as the first one had been, so we weren't really expecting it yet. He was pretty excited. It was a little too messy for a picture yet tonight, but I'll try to post a toothy grin photo in the next day or so.
