Snow Fort

We made a small snow fort with some of the 14" of snow we received Friday & Saturday. It was big enough for both kids & the dog to fit inside at the same time. It was tall enough that I could sit up inside, which meant the kids could easily kneel. The kids had a lot of fun playing in it this afternoon. It was amazing how warm it was inside it. Next year we'll make one big enough to stand up in. Of course, we're supposed to get another 5-8" of snow on Tuesday, so maybe we'll be able to try again later this week!

very cool! How did you get the walls to stay up?

We made a big pile of snow and packed it together and then let it sit for a day. The outer layer kind of refroze in the cold when the sun went down and got a little crusty, which enabled us to dig out the inside the next day. We just had to be careful not to break through the outer layer from the inside.
