Vacation - A Few of Our Favorite Things

While we're in the mountains, some of our favorite activities are having cookouts at the picnic areas, looking for salamanders in the streams, and driving through Cades Cove. On our first full day of vacation, we did all of those things.

On our way to the picnic area, we stopped by a mountain stream to take a break from driving and to cool off. It was so pretty.

We had a picnic at the picnic area closest to Cades Cove. The little stream that runs through the picnic area is the best one we've found for easily finding salamanders.

 

 

 

We drove through Cades Cove later in the day and timed our second drive through to coincide with the sun setting. We saw 1 bear, 5 coyote, 6 deer, a rabbit or two, and lots of bats.
