So Close!

My annual plan to coax a hummingbird to eat from my hand may actually work this year. (No, I guess I don't have anything better to do with my time!)  Tonight I was sitting on the ground, holding the hummingbird feeder in my hand, and this guy didn't seem to mind. He has done this two different nights now. The next step is switching out the feeder to a bowl of sugar water. I suspect that this is the same hummingbird that let me get close to him last year. He's just all grown up this year. If you turn the volume up you can hear the hum of his wings.
