We arrived home from vacation late this afternoon. We had a really good time at Disney World and visiting with Ron's family. It was fun to watch the cousins play together. I have lots of pictures I'd like to post, so I'll spread them out over a few days.
We were scheduled to have brunch at Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club near Epcot the first day we were there. On the way there, though, we were involved in an accident. Another car lost control and ran into the passenger side of our van. It was scary, but no one really got hurt. Things could have been so much worse, and we are grateful to God for His protection.
Ron ended up spending 1/2 the day filing police reports, filling out paperwork, and securing another rental van. In the meantime, I thought it would be best to get the kids away from the busy causeway, so a security guard gave us a ride to the restaurant.
We were late but I had called ahead to explain our situation. When we got there, the staff went out of their way to cater to Tyler & Danielle, who were still sniffling from the crash. The food was only so-so, but the characters did a nice job making the kids feel important. Donald himself sat down at our table for a short while to rest his big orange feet. We got to see Donald, Goofy, and Minnie.
After lunch we went to Epcot Center. Ron joined us mid afternoon, and we attempted to salvage the rest of the day.
The park wasn't very busy at all. In fact, we were able to eat dinner at the sit-down restaurant in Mexico without reservations. We stayed that evening and watched the Illuminations fireworks show.
