On Wednesday of vacation week we rented a pontoon boat at Lake Douglas and spent the day motoring around, tubing and fishing. We weren't sure how this would go over and almost cancelled our reservation, but I think this ended up being one of our favorite activities.

We anchored and ate a picnic lunch down one of the many "fingers" of the lake. It was very pretty. |
The boys fished for awhile and then decided to jump in with Danielle and me. |
Although our boat didn't go very fast, the kids still had a great time tubing! Danielle especially enjoyed it! |
Tyler enjoyed the tube, too, but he always cut his turn short so Danielle could get back on...and because he liked to drive the boat. |
The water felt really good! |
Sadly we had to cut our day an hour short because a storm moved across the mountains towards us. |
We made it back to the marina safely. The boys fished for a few minutes on the beach by the docks, but didn't catch anything there either. There were a lot of turtles, though! We enjoyed dinner at Mellow Mushroom and then headed back to our cabin to watch a movie. It was a really great day.
