Since the Smoky Mountains is a relatively inexpensive place to vacation, we decided to splurge a little on our cabin this time and rented a cabin with it's own indoor pool. There were a few things we didn't care for, but that happens anywhere. It was bug free, which was a huge improvement over last year's rental house!

Upstairs bedroom. This was Danielle's room. |

I can't tell you how many times this door scared us when we caught sight of it as we walked through the kitchen at night! (This is looking at it from outside.) |

The pool was the perfect size! We could have comfortably fit another 4 people in it. It was almost 6' at the deep end and had a fountain at the side. We shared a lot of giggles in this pool. |

Ron and Danielle enjoyed the pool table, while Tyler and I rocked the arcade game. |

The arcade game had a ton of games on it. I relived my youth and schooled Tyler in Centipede. |

The only truly disappointing thing about the cabin was the "theater room", which wasn't its own room and was misrepresented by the online pictures. You can see the outline around the tv on the wall of the tv that USED to be there. It was considerably larger. The couch in the picture was much nicer, too. Ron and Tyler were looking forward to watching movies in the evening on a giant screen but this ended up being the same size as what we have at home. We just spent more time in the pool instead. :) |
We did have those 5 bears on our deck the first day we were there. Later in the week we spotted this bear in the driveway of another house in our neighborhood. The trash cans are all in wire, bear-proof cages, but the cans themselves don't have lids on them. I think this rental company did this on purpose to entice the bears and thrill the vacationers. While it was nice to see the bears, it didn't really seem fair to them.
Overall, it was a nice home away from home for a week.
