Observing MLK Day

I really wanted to go to the zoo with the kids today like we did last year, but my tween and teen didn't want to do anything. Although we had nearly 3 weeks off between Christmas break and snow days, they both "needed" a day to stay in their pjs and not do a thing. Not me. I left the kids in their pjs and went to lunch and the park with my mom and brother.

We had very nice time. We saw lots of birds, about a dozen deer, and this big orange ball we recognized as the sun.
